AREVA T&D is looking for a SR Buyer/Material Scheduler in its Charleroi, PA location. The Sr Buyer/Material Scheduler works independently to ensure related purchased material meets quality, delivery and cost requirements, by working directly with sourcing, quality, production, engineering and suppliers to order, track and resolve issues in delivery. Provides uninterrupted flow of materials to manufacturing by Planning and procuring inventory, monitoring and developing suppliers, while training and mentoring others in the supply chain team.
  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 
¨       Schedules material in through utilization of MRP system and established contracts
¨        Identify obsolete parts for rework, return or scrap
¨        Identify parts for  bill of material errors
¨        Work directly with engineering and production personnel on part requirements
¨       Utilizes the MRP system to respond to the dictates/recommendations in a timely/accurate responsive manner.
¨       Tracks and expedites orders to ensure delivery schedules are met and part shortages are resolved. Advises sales and production departments of delivery status. 
¨       Identifies all non-performances of suppliers and initiates corrective action with the assistance of appropriate Sourcing and Quality agents.
¨       Handles standard QCRs and returns defective or unacceptable goods to vendor as directed by sourcing and/or quality dept.
¨       Schedules parts deliveries.  Reschedules deliveries when necessary according to customer requirements.
¨       Prepares purchase orders or bid requests as required by business conditions.  Enters purchase orders into MRP system.  Sends out updated drawings to vendor as required by engineering.
¨       Processes engineering change notices and drawing revision requirements.
¨       Completes manual purchase requisitions through lotus notes after approval process is completed.
¨       Maintains files and other related filing systems. 
¨       Communicates accurate information to production in various ways, ie call, meetings, etc in order to provide accurate and timely updates as will as input to meet meeting objectives.
¨       Represents management in production, scheduling, and cross-functional meetings
¨       Establishes and implements PFEP, reorder points, min/max levels, safety stocks, and updates other planning data.
¨       Monitors and reports departmental KPI's including monitoring supplier performance delivery and quality.
¨       Lead and manage E&O inventory by identifying opportunities to sell/return product, final disposition, and mitigating additional E&O risk.
¨       Evaluate data from MRP using Materials management concepts to improve processes.
¨       Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
 
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this SR Buyer/Material Scheduler opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • BS  Degree in Business or related field or equivalent and five years related experience in purchasing; and
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and MRP/ERP
  • Ability to set direction and drive results
  • Operates without prompting or excessive direction from others
