Founded in 2000, today CPower is one of the largest demand-response providers in North America. Our company is currently active and expanding in numerous energy markets including New York, New England, the Mid-Atlantic region, Texas, California, and Canada. We are currently seeking a Project Manager based in our Lawrence, MA Office. As a project manager you will run energy installation projects and help improve our processes and systems in the central project office. You will coordinate the actions of energy engineers, communications installers, our partners, and customer personnel; thereby providing the link between the sales team and the operations center. Your involvement and commitment will be crucial for firm growth and development.

We have an immediate need for an enthusiastic, confident, and organized project manager able to manage multiple projects throughout the United States. This position will work closely with sales, operations, customers, partners and vendors. This position is located in Lawrence, MA.

The candidate should have familiarity with project management, construction project scheduling and/or field service management. We require our professionals to be self motivated, results oriented, well organized, innovative and strategic thinkers, with solid leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Further, this position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary staff and key stakeholders. The candidate will need to work effectively with people at all levels of our internal organization and external stakeholders

Duties/Responsibilities:
We require the independent delivery of turn-over meetings, project plans, resource staffing, customer and site scheduling, issue resolution, cost tracking, project reporting, status meetings, risk mitigation, and project finalization. In addition to the day to day project work we expect participation in improving the overall performance of the central project office, including its systems, processes, policies, and efficiency.
  • Project Inception – Receive requests from sales executives to start implementation for newly signed customers; ensure that sufficient information is available to initiate a project.
  • Workload Planning – Participate in sales meetings and calls to estimate future project load and take preparatory action.
  • Project Planning – Create project plans using standard project management techniques. Identify tasks, dependencies, milestones, and critical path; re-use project templates or create individual project plans as necessary.
  • Resource Allocation – Staff project in cooperation with resource managers to balance load of individual resources and needs of projects. Leverage partner organizations for resource allocation.
  • Partner Management – Keep partner organizations up-to-date on expected workload. Keep status information on available resources from partners.
  • Partner Certification – Review and monitor our partners’ compliance with our standard of quality and certification levels.
  • Task Execution – Schedule and dispatch resources to accomplish tasks. Monitor task execution and quality.
    Risk Management – Identify risks to project success and schedule. Create mitigation plans and monitor for changes.
  • Information Updating – Meticulously update project status in online systems.
  • Project Communications – Create weekly reports on projects and inform team members and constituents of project status and progress; identify bottlenecks and resolve them.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equal, preferably in an engineering discipline
  • CAPM, PMP certification a plus but not required
  • Minimum 5 years relative experience in project management, construction project scheduling or experience in managing field installations.
  • Excellent communication skills with sales executives, customers, engineers and vendors
  • Full understanding of project life-cycle, including project inception, planning, risk mitigation, costing, steering, and closing.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Daptiv, Clarizen, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Work as part of a team of distributed engineers and installers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to visit sites or customers.
