We are looking for a candidate with good experience in Power Generation area incuding awareness of renewables. Needs to have thorough process knowledge of the generation processes and understanding of the IT systems and information flow across applications within generation and outside applications. Candidate NEEDS to have experience in working with utilities in US markets. The person would be expected to do consulting engagements to document AS-IS, do gap analysis, recommend changes to close painpoints etc in the generation area. This person will also need to work closely with our Alliance partners in identifying solutions and focused service offerings in this domain. He will also help improve internal domain competency within this space by creating training material and contribute to thought leadership via papers published in Industry forums. The person must be able to understand business / operations requirements and be able to translate them into system requirements, and be able to functionally design the system. Examples of some typical areas are fleet management, wind forecasting, plant asset management, resource optimization etc. Exposure to any IT products or related technologies like RT systems (OSI Soft) etc is not required but an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Perform consulting engagements like understanding and documenting of business processes, analysis and capture of customer requirements and issues via workshops if required. Perform high level fit gap analysis and define high level solutions/multiple options for clients
- Review the requirements for projects and help with prepration of functional test cases, application of industry best practices during requirements. Where applicable do product evauation and fitment analysis.
- The candidate must be a team player and is also expected to help the project team with any functional issues that may arise during the course of the project.
- Leverage his/her industry knowledge in creating value added solution and accelerators be leveraging our alliances and Infosys horizontal capabilities. Should be able to formulate requirements for creating solutions/products for cater to specific Industry needs
- Building domain competencies and create L300 training in Power Generation area
- Develop and publish PoVs and papers in industry forums. Participate in relevant external events for brand building and creating customer pipeline
- Leverage domain and Industry knowledge to help with strategy definition for the generation practice
- Presales - help define solutions for proposals and develop the domain/functional content and part of the response
- Provide functional leadership in development/ implementation/maintenance projects
Experience/Skills:
- Greater than 10 years’ experience with atleast 4+ years in Power generation. Knowledge of power procurement area like long/st planning, interactions with the system operator/ISO a must.
- Strong Utilities’ domain experience. Exposure to IT is a must (either should have done IT related consulting, Used IT systems as a end user, done product evaluation or was involved in product development).
- Good understanding of products relevant to the Utility Generation domain and expertise in atleast one product
- Must have exposure to pre-sales and marketing processes. Knowledge of word/power point
- Good interpersonal communications and analytical ability
- Preferably Authored papers in relevant topics, made presentations at conferences
- Strong soft skills required
- Open to travel per business requirements
