Under the general direction of the Supervisor, New Connects, the New Connects Analyst will be responsible for supporting the New Connects team by managing mass market customer inquiries and proposals.  In addition, this role will manage customer call backs, update construction prints and complete single line drawings for all rate segments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • Analyze customer service requirements using electrical engineering concepts to accurately assess customer load.
  • Use the approved table driven quotation estimating tool to provide a quote for the service within one to two business days.
  • Analyze customer facility connections to the power grid in order to identify distribution system requirements.
  • Commit price and complete proposals for non-complex distribution quotations.
  • Provide ongoing direction to the New Connects Assistant to ensure the quality of the quote letter and information within the documentation supplied to the customer is clear, accurate and timely. 
  • Work with the Contribution Coordinator to ensure that customer contributions and advances are paid and recorded in SAP.
  • Assist Quotation Analysts with the more complex jobs, including information gathering and callbacks.
  • Advise Stakeholder Relation Managers and Major Account Representatives of issues pertaining to new connect requests
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; this includes providing technical guidance and communicating effectively. 
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating with customers about new connect requirements and working to resolve problems and/or concerns. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; this includes good written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Customer service focus supported by organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and rules of the various Rural Electrification Association (REA) groups.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of operations, distribution line design, distribution planning, power quality protection, and construction.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of various project management tools and techniques.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma.
  • An Electrical Technology Diploma or Equivalent Degree/Designation; OR completion of Electrical Theory 1, 2 & 3 within two (2) years of date of hire; and Minimum 3 years experience in design, construction or rates and investment policies.

Design, construction or rates and investment policies can be defined as the following:

  • Construction – Power Line Technician completed 3rd year of apprenticeship program
  • Design – 3 years experience using an automated line design program to analyze survey data and evaluate and modify pole and line design
  • Rates and Investment Policies – 3 years experience with interpreting economic data, evaluating investment levels for varying loads and rate types, and applying applicable rates.
